Parent Comments Dear Jason: I would like to thank you for the difference you make in the lives of the young men and women in your Academy of Rock program. As you are well aware, it is important that teenagers have an outlet for the energy, emotion and turbulence they go through at this age. For most of your students, as far as I can tell, their interests are not in sports and that leaves them few if any areas for which to express themselves. I can say for my son, your program has had an uplifting and positive effect on him. It gives him something to look forward to, work hard at, accomplish the goals he has set and experience the rewards for his hard work. He has dreams and goals that he understands would be unreachable should he get involved in the drugs and alcohol that a lot of his peers are now experimenting with and your program helps him stay focused. He told me on the phone yesterday that he is grateful for the opportunities that you and the Academy of Rock have given him. He hopes that when his time there is through, he can come back and help teach to give back to the program that helped him get started. Through that experience, he will learn more about the personal benefits of giving; and the almost indescribable feelings you get by watching those you teach, learn and grow. I would also like to say Jason, that I am impressed by the level of organization and experience you and the program display. At first, I thought I might have a lot to offer, but my lack of recent stage experience and knowledge of current songs in comparison to the instructors you currently have is inadequate. My love of music, guitar technique and writing experience however, may prove useful to you in the future and I would enjoy the experience of giving back whenever and however I may be of assistance. Let me know if I can be of any help with the upcoming shows with transportation, set-up, or anything else to help get the kids ready. Thanks again Jason,
